Debates and Forums

Leagues across the nation are known for their work in hosting nonpartisan candidate debate and issues forums. Hearing and seeing candidates engage in healthy debates before an election is an important part of our democracy. Candidate forums and debates help our members and the community determine which candidates align with their values and which ones they want to support with their votes.

Every election year LWVCYC hosts candidate forums and debates for local, county, and Arizona legislature elections.  Local elections run the gamut of city government, local school boards and local commissions. Due to our deep roots and long history of nonpartisanship, communities across the country have put their trust in the League to host these events.
